Samsung Galaxy Gear Vs Sony Smart Watch 2

IFA 2013 which held in Berlin, Germany bring some exciting new electronic gadgets in our world. Most of the people are talking about new smart phones like Galaxy Note 3, Xperia Z1, Iphone 5S & iPhone 5C. But one another news was not much noticed that both Samsung & Sony launched wrist watch which is really exciting gadgets called Galaxy Gear & Smart Watch 2 respectively.

Design

First of all if you look at the basic dimensions and size, you will notice that Galaxy Gear is more rectangular, and Smart Watch 2 is square shaped gadget. Gear is weighted 74 gram and Smart Watch 2 is having 123 gram with a metal strip. Both gadgets are made from metals. Smart Watch 2 having an aluminium body whereas Gear have a stainless steel body.

Display & Processor

Both gadgets come with a 1.6 inch display. Gear having a 1.63'' inch  Super EMOLED display with a resolution of 320 x 320 pixels and 278 ppi density. Smart Watch 2 having 1.6 inch Transreflective display with 220 x 176 pixels and 176 ppi density. This means that Gear has much sharper and bright display very close to latest smartphones. 

I believe that processing power is not much important in these type of wrist watches. But if you are really looking for high power then Gear have 800 MHz Samsung Exynos processor while Smart Watch 2 have ARM cortex M3 processor with 200 MHz.

Battery Life

This is the department in which Smart Watch 2 over shadows its rival by a huge margin & for wrist watches this is the key factor. Gear having 25 hour plus batter life which is really bad for a gadget like this. Wheres Smart Watch 2 having 3-4 days of batter life as per company said. Thanks to its just 200 Mhz processor and display which improves its battery performance. So if batter life matters for you then you definitely have to go for Smart Watch 2.

Other Aspects

Gear having a facility to answer your phone call. Which is not available in Smart Watch 2. But one horror fact is that it is just compatible with Galaxy Note 3, which is not released in all the markets yet. On other side Smart Watch 2 is compatible with all Android powered smart phones and provide notification related your phone. Both gadgets are not compatible with any of the iPhone.

Gear have a 1.9 MP camera which is fitted on its wrist band whereas Smart Watch does not feature any camera. 

Smart Watch 2 is NFC facilitate & Gear does not have this facility. 

Price & Release Date

Both gadgets are plan to release in closing of September this year. 

Gear will be available at $299 in USA market & INR 21,000 in Indian market.

Smart Watch 2 will be available at INR 14,000 in Indian market & I am not sure about USA market but it will be available at around $220 as per my views. 

iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C : First Look

Its almost after one year when Apple released iPhone5 last year. There was too much curiosity in the market related to upcoming iPhone. The rumor was also there that Apple will launch two iPhone. Now its exactly same and all prediction become right. So, I will not get too much time and start our review. First of all we will talk about iPhone 5S. Because it is their flagship phone and having latest hardware. 

iPhone 5S

New iPhone 5S is the successor of iPhone 5. It has first ever in the world 64 bit processor. No other phone have 64 bit processor till date. 

• A7 Chip: It is 64 bit chip which is Apple's proprietary processor made specially for iPhone. This chip gives double performance then the previous A6 chip in CPU and GPU related tasks. There is another best combination with iOS7, because they specially made it for 64 bit chip.

• M7 co-processor: This new combination included in this iPhone 5S is like a master-slave combination. Because M7 co-processor works for some miscellaneous tasks like compass, accelerometer, gyroscope tasks. So all this will be done in M7 co-processor and it will directly reduce the burden from the A7 chip. Another huge pro is that, it will increase battery life.

• Camera:  There is no doubt that iPhone will have a great camera. Yes, again its much better improved then previous one. The iSight camera comes with 8 MP auto focus camera. It is basically a five element lens which have hybrid IR filter. The camera provides features like auto focus, tap focus, face detection, burst mode, panorama.,etc. 

• Display: This phone have 4 inch retina display having 1136 x 640 pixels resolution. It provides density of 336 ppi. One huge feature added in this display is this iPhone 5S can support 'finger print' scanning! So you can lock-unlock and even use finger print as password for phone and app store. 

After discussing these key features I must say that they did not invent or bring any hurricane in specification of this new phone. But as per company's brand value, iPhone 5S will also bring big success for Apple. iPhone 5S come with grey, gold and silver of bezel aluminium case. 

iPhone 5C

People were talking about that this time apple is going to unveil another 'cheap' iPhone for some economical users. So that's here. Again with this phone I am not that much impressed. Because the main aim of this phone was to gain good market share in Asian countries like China,India. So they have to keep the price of this phone as low as possible. But that does not practically happening. 

The configuration of this phone is same as one year before iPhone5. To reduce its price they put a poly carbonate cover like Samsung for this iPhone 5C. This phone comes in colors like green, yellow, blue, pink and white color. So this is its biggest plus point. Otherwise same hardware like iPhone5. So I do not want to discuss about it more. Just enjoy its colorful back cover pictures. One thing i noted in this phone is they made its edged with much sharp curve. So it looks really cool. 

Sony Xperia Z1

Last year when Sony released their flagship phone Xperia Z, it created a new path which have the waterproof feature and stunning looks. After almost one year there were rumors related to the new phone's name in the market. The phone would be named 'Honami' , 'i10' and 'Z1'. Now Sony has officially reveled the phone with name Xperia Z1 in IFA Berlin 2013.

Previously I had written an article with leaked pictures of this phone. The phone looks exactly same. I am writing the key features in points so every one can easily understand them.

• A groundbreaking camera with Sony's award winning G-lens. It is 20.7 MP camera with EXMOR RS sensor,CMOS image sensor and BIONZ mobile technology.
• Reinvented camera application which is very well synchronized with social networks. So you can share pictures and videos live.
• The technology which is used in Sony's BRAVIA televisions. It is used here called as TRILUMINUS display.
• Like other Xperia devices this phone is also dust and water resistant.

after all these heavy features we are comparing this phone on different basis.

Camera:

There is no doubt that this phone is world's best camera phone, and it even beats Nokia's 41MP phone. As I said before that in this phone Sony has included their technology used in digital cameras. So in one word I can say about camera performance is just 'awesome'.

Screen:

This phone comes with a 5.00 inch display which is same as previous Xperia Z. The new thing is that they had included new BRAVIA technology. 

Looks:

According to me, this phone is best looking phone even surpassing the Xperia Z. There are minimal physical buttons and the buildup is thin and elegant. Thanks to aluminium bazel which gives this phone a super premium finish.

Final verdict:

The exclusive Xperia Z1 in undoubtably one of the most advance and best phone. Even if you compare it with Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One and Lumia 1020. If Sony manages to sell it with some good marketing and price point then it have potential to get a grand success.

Android KitKat : Next 'chocolaty' OS

There were too much speculations related with the name of upcoming android OS. Most of the people do not know, but these names are given in ABCD order of eating desserts.
Now Google has confirmed that their next android OS 4.4 will be called as KitKat.

Yes,you may be amazed that its an official name of Nestle's product which is world wide popular chocolate. But even Nestle is happy with all these things and they do not have any problem with using this name and even their official logo of KitKat. 

I just visited the official site of Android KitKat, and it was totally outstanding. They made it very very 'chocolatey' and I think the next Android is going to bring something very very surprising to us. Before this announcement, me and some other bloggers were talking about the next OS will be called 'key lime pie'. But from suggestions Google realized that it is not very popular product, and they must change the name.

In this conference about this announcement they also said that the next step will be promoting the Nexus 7 in US and UK regions. Even they also said that they are planning to do such promotions in Asia and Latin region. One exciting news is that, some lucky winners will get KitKat bar as a gift from Google.

After the first release of android OS in 2009,which was actually called 'cup cake' ,they are continuing their policy and now even bigger OS is coming. So be ready and till the release, take a taste of this KitKat. 

Shared Album : New Facebook Feature

Facebook had become very aggressive to compete with other sites. After introducing a feature of picture comment and chat rooms. They are going to give another exciting feature.



You might be a member on any group in Whatsapp and all of you post pictures frequently. So taking idea from that feature, Facebook has introduced Shared Album which can be shared by as many 50 users and all of them can post on that album. So if you gone on any school trip with friends then all of you can post pictures in the same album. So, it seems very interesting to use.

Right now they had given this feature to English users and step by step it will be available for worldwide users. They thought about this new feature from suggestion of users of facebook.

There will be privacy settings for public,friends or friends of friends ,respectively what you wish to set for the album.  

Mobile Processors : Quad Core VS Dual Core

There was a time when everyone was fascinating about Mega Pixel of their phone camera, and after that era, Screen size of mobile phone came into the picture. The bigger size phones always fascinate people. But now the benchmark has changed, the number of cores attracts people, and it is the new benchmark for comparing mobile phone.

People are talking about single core,dual core,quad core processors. Now even some small companies even launching phones at budget prices having quad core processors. So in this article we are going to learn what is the exact meaning of multi-core architecture of any smart phone.

First of all the basic difference is just simple, a dual core processors can carry out the instruction sets by improved performance. Quad core processors also does the same work, and they are basically four cores which are integrated on a single silicon chip which gives us high performance.
In simple words,quad core processors can carry out same work done by dual core processor at a twice speed!

If you compare the processor with your brain then dual core processor have two brain and quad core have four brain. So, the time required to complete the task by quad core is almost fourth  of the single core. But its not as simple,actual performance depends on memory cache,bandwidth, core clocks,.etc. Thus variation will always be there.

Memory

Typically only a more powerful processor is not always important. Because processor takes help from ROM(read only memory) and RAM(random access memory).

For ROM,the operating system of any smartphone is stored on the ROM. These memory area can not be accessed by the user. If you want to access that area then you must root your smartphone. Mostly in Android phones these situation occurs when you have less internal space for installing big applications and games. The less amount of memory, your phone will become slow. 

Same situation comes in RAM 's case. Where, all the running applications are stores on RAM and that's why processor takes help from RAM. If you have a quad core phone then it maybe having 1-2 GB RAM or other dual core phone having 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM.

So,in conclusion, the amount of RAM is always as important as a processor and it makes big difference in performance.

It depends on Architecture of the processor and clock speed. Most of mobile processor are based on ARM architecture. Upon these architecture several companies are licenced to make the type of processors. Few examples of these companies are Qualcomm , Nvidia, Samsung Exynos. They are having licence to produce it, and they make processors based on that. In latest technologies , they are said to be having A5,A6,A8,A15 architecture processors. So if the processor having quad cores but have older architecture then it will be not optimum in comparison with other processors. 

So always go for ARM  architecture of the processor and know about its clock speed.

Power consumption

We have heard that if you have more cored phone then you might be having less battery power to use. But it is not always true because latest Quad core processors come with advanced architecture which consumes less power and even in some conditions they beats the dual core processors. In normal conditions the mobile phone switch off the non used cores and they will be activated when they will actually needed. 

So, battery power depends on the amount of mAh of battery,not totally on processor.

Final verdict

At the end of the day, all depends on the price of the phone and in that matter, quad core processors have complex architecture so they are costlier then dual cores. 

If you are going to buy a phone , try to figure out other features like clock speed, RAM, ARM architecture.  

"You can buy a smartphone having Quad core processor at the price of 15000 INR. And even a dual core phone at 18000 INR. So there would be some concrete difference between them"

Leaked pictures of upcoming Sony flagship phone Honami i10

Generally I only write content in the written phase for this blog. But this time I thought this post could be interesting and more likely for others. So I am going to display some leaked pictures of upcoming Sony Xperia flagship smartphone Honami i10. This phone will replace the super successful Xperia Z.
In this pictures they have compared the phone with iPhone 5 and you can easily assume the screen size of the phone. In other pictures the phone suggest that it have 20.7 mega pixel camera. This is just sensation. Personally I am very much impressed by this pictures, and I think it will be very promising phone. So enjoy the photographs.

Moto X Review

Motorola is the first company which introduced first mobile phone to the world, and they were the leader in this industry before some years. But after that they leg behind and Apple,Nokia,Samsung  surpass them. But now Motorola have new owner in big name of Google. Thus their new phone is making big news and lets review this latest phone.

Because of the ownership of Google,it has a stock version of Android. But unlike Nexus phones, this phone have many customization and more importantly Motorola claims that they can ship you totally customized phone as per your requirements. And that special feature with comparison of other phones. It is something like desktop computers, for which you go to Dell or Lenovo and tell them your required configuration and get desktop according to that. So that's cool but it doesn't make much sense when you have heavy competition with Apple,Samsung etc.

Personally I didn't found any other wow factor in this phone. So I am just sharing its configuration and specification. Watch out for that below.

Nvidia Shield

The gaming section is hot market in gadgets industry and now Nvidia is also jumped to compete with PSP of Sony and Nintendo devices.

Nvidia is known for its graphics cards and mobile phone processors called as Tegra processors.

According to the company professionals there were some technical issues in releasing this products. So, it is released one month later. Even in this delay they also get down the price from $349 to $299.
