5 Building Blocks for a Killer Website

A website is a gateway to your business. It’s the place where people build their first impressions about your company. If you have an existing website that you wish to improve on, or if you are planning on developing a new one from the scratch, there are some features you need to look out for. These elements will make sure that your website gets you all the attention and sales your business deserves. 

1. The look matter the most

The appearance of your website has a lot to do with how successful your website becomes. After all, if your website looks like something that was made in the 80s, people might not really want to do business with you. You need a website that has a clean, distinct look. This does not mean you should use a lot of colors, or over-crowd the website. You just have to make it look organized, and accessible.


If you want to make the website look good, and grab attention, you need to include powerful visuals. These visuals need to be linked to the subject matter you are talking about in that particular page, and should relate to your industry too. You can include photographs, videos, diagrams, charts, etc. so that people can understand your company and your work better. You will be able to find this visual data on the Internet (but don’t copy it!), or you can create them yourself. While planning the visuals of your website, you should also make sure that you take the screen resolution into consideration. Most computers have a resolution of 1024 x 768, and you should maintain it that way.

2. Make sure your site is useful for visitors

If you want to make your website more usable, you have to design it keeping the customers in mind. 

• The website should make sure they include all the important data and information your customer would need. The text has to be readable, and it should be simple to understand for your target audience. In fact your website should be structured around the content. This is what people are visiting your website for, after all. 
• Make sure that the content is short, simple while being unique and full of substance. The more information and value you can present through your content, the more visitors will be returning to benefit from it. It’s best for you to hire a professional to do the task of writing the content for you. You should also update this content regularly, so that the customer is assured of your professional nature.
• You should also make sure that there is not a lot of scrolling involved. Do not put too many pictures or videos in the website, instead of adding short, understandable text. 

All the above pointers are entirely dependent on the purpose of your website. For instance, if your website is selling clothes, jewelry, or such, you should not focus on the text as much as you focus on the pictures, and other visuals. If you are selling a service, you need not focus on maintaining a comments section that much, but if you are selling books or other goods, you have to make sure there is an active comments section. 

3. Search Engine Optimization is cruicial

When you design a website, your primary purpose is to reach out to people. Most people find companies and websites through search engines. If you want your website to show up on the search engine pages, you have to make sure that the website is search engine optimized. In fact, SEO should be part of your overall marketing strategy. It can bring targeted audience to your website. 

Once you employ SEO, your website will turn up on the pages of search engines, thereby ensuring your popularity and increasing your sales or revenue.

4. Security is important

If you want to make sure that your customers trust you, and want to employ your services again, you have to do all you can to earn their trust. This means that you should take all precautions against leaking the information they have provided you with. 5. Mobile Compatibility

Facebook going to launch 'Digital Newspaper' to challenge Flipboard

Facebook is going to enter in 'digital newspaper' market with its latest mobile app named 'Paper' to compete with digital newspaper giant Flipboard. According to the sources this app will be launched around end of this January month. 

Mark Zuckerburg, who is the founder of Facebook and also was the key person behind this new product said that it is an outcome which took a long time to establish and it will digitize news from various status updates and media related companies. He did not reveled that this app would be an integrated part of present Facebook app or standalone app from Facebook app.

There were rumors in market that Facebook is loosing their users and not launching something new and exciting. It was in talks from last years summers that Facebook is doing work on this kind of app service and now they are going to launch very soon.

SEO TIPS #2 : Off Page SEO

This is my second article on SEO tips. Before I already written the first article which was based on On page SEO.  On Page SEO is based on some basic things like Title tag, Meta tags & SILO architecture. Now let me come to this Off Page SEO and start the article.

1. Back Links

Back Links are nothing but your blog's relation with other blogs and sites. It means linking of both of you by which visitors can jump to your blog from that link on other blog. Back links can be made by commenting on some other blog or website and putting our blogs link in that comment. So others can notice it and visit our blog also. This linking can be achieved in many ways, but more important thing is the quality of the link.

Quality of Back Links is having these much characteristics:

• Linking with higher Google Page Rank(PR) website: To link your blog with high PR sites you must have an account on top social networking sites like Google Plus, Facebook, Twitter with your respective blog name. By doing that post your articles on that sites so that visitors come from there and you will get very good quality of back links.

• No follow and do follow links: Whenever you link something with your post at that time maybe you have noticed that rel='nofollow' . Meaning of this code is,if you include this code then reputation of your blog will not be passed to the linked blog. This phenomena are called as 'no follow' links and these type of links are not much helpful. Bloogers use it for not flowing their reputation to other blogs.
  Generally most of the premium and reputed websites do not provide do follow options, so that you can build your reputation and fetch some visitors from those sites. But if you do some research and find out sites with do follow option then definitely you can get the good site linking and more visitors. 

• Similar kind of blogs & websites like yours: Just putting your link with a comment on other blogs is not as effective as you put them on correct blog or website. If your link contains article related to technology and gadgets, then you put it on an article of religion or mythological related. It's not going to work. By doing much activities like this and if Google notice it then they can ban your blog in their search results also. So always remember to put links on the right location.

2. Social Vote

This is very very important thing for Off Page SEO. It is also very easy to understand & implement for SEO.Always be an active member on social networking sites. Not for yourself but for your blog and building SEO. Whenever you write a new article then share that article with your Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus friends and groups. This is best and easiest way to drive  a tremendous amount of traffic to your blog. Become an active member of pages, groups and communities with similar niche and share your posts and ideas with others. Trust me, this will demand patience but give you a very good and genuine traffic.  

Introduce social bookmarking widgets on your blog like following you on twitter, facebook, G+, Stumbleupon, Flickr,.etc.  Put share widget on every post, so if a reader like that then he can share it with other friends also. 

Use and be a member of bookmarking site which will save your time to bookmark your blog on every social networking site.

SEO TIPS #1

As a blogger I had always one question regarding to my blog was that 'How many people will visit my blog? And more importantly how can my blog would be placed higher in Google search rankings?? I did some research and apply those research on my blog. This thing helped me extremely well and i successfully entered into Million club of Alexa ranking. It is really good achievement. Personally I want to clarify that these are not the only way for SEO, but these tips can really help in getting good traffic. You may have your other ways also, if you have then mail me so I can share them.

As my part of research I found that SEO is categorized in two major types:
First is, On page SEO and second is, Off page SEO.

In this post I will talk about On page SEO because covering both issues will make this post undesirably long. So these are key points related with On page SEO.

1.Title Tag

Title tag is the most important tag in your blog because using this tag the search engine will get to know that to which issue your article is related. So always do as possible storming to decide the title tag for your article.

This screenshot will show its working and it works as key factor.

Whenever you write title tag then it should be always relevant to your article, it can not be duplicated and always keep its length short as possible.

2. Meta Tags

These tags called as 'Information Carrier' for browser because the  text between meta tags will not be showed on the web page, but it will tell the browser information contained between them.
There are many types of meta tags like Description meta tag, Key word meta tag, Robot meta tag and Charset meta tag. All of them have their own advantage and use in SEO.

3. SILO Structure

This third point is mostly unknown from every SEO tips, but I found it from some of the resources. Basically,its not new for us but the way it is used in SEO is more important, and this makes the noticeable impact in your site rankings.

In simple words, it can be taken as a Pyramid structure or a hierarchy of your web site.

If you look at my site then you will find that at top most level "Homepage" is there. Then below level  Reviews, OS, Software, Facebook.,etc are there. Again there is sub layer for OS and Reviews named as Windows, Android, Apple and Gadgets, Software respectively.

These structure should me well mannered, and you have to make it as simple as possible so Google can understand your site easily.

The other thing related with SILO structure is URL representation. Afterall URL is like your address by which some one identify your home. Such like that the whole site should be categorized in proper manner so the URL should make a proper meaning.

In my blog you can notice that every post is categorized by their date of creation and according to that the URL is generated. You can see it by viewing this posts URL.

Firefox OS

Before 10 years no one ever thought about operating system for mobile phones. But later Apple created iPhone and it had iOS ,then market leader Android come into picture and it truly over shadow all its competitors. Looking at the scenario, Microsoft also made its mobile OS and now its time for peoples favorite Foxy!! 

Mozilla Firefox is coming with their new OS. Mozilla is giving it free because it is non profit organization. They introduced this OS in Mobile World Congress.

Firefox has deal with four manufacturer companies: LG , Alcatel, ZTE and spanish company Telephonica. These Firefox OS phones are not high end phones but surely special because of their OS. This OS contain all the major apps like maps,facebook,calendar,twitter,youtube.,etc. 

If we look at current market then we can see that 85% market is shared by Android and iOS, the rest 15% is shared by BlackBerry and Windows phones. And because of the firefox OS is based on HTML5,they have bright chances to get 3rd place. Reason behind this is there are millions of HTML5 developers in the world with compare to Android and iOS and developing applications with HTML5 is much easy and cheap with compare to others.

It will be true early that how far this OS will go, but at this point at least for 2-3 years Android and iOS don't have any big competition but performance,open source and affordability of this OS will have bright chances to make difference.Good luck to team Mozilla!!!

Browser Speed Up Tips

Using a computer and without having internet is like nightmare for most of us in this days. Thus having a browser is also necessary. People use Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer mostly. But again new problems are also here. Whenever you doing some important work and surfing internet,you have noticed that your computer and browser become slow. Even id did not respond rapidly when you type something. This is because of modern browsers consume lot of RAM memory. I have some tips which can help you in this problem, but let me clarify that is doesn't solve your problem 100%,it will increase your browser speed to some percentage.

Here, I have explained this steps in Chrome,other browsers also follow an almost same pattern to do these things.

Delete cache and history

First of all I will explain what is Cache??

It is some pages which are already saved by the browser and they are used more so browser display them directly to save time. But this will keep busy your browser to searching those cache files and that's why deleting cache will improve browser speed. 

Deleting history does the same thing to improve browser speed. This will delete all the cookies,history,saved passwords.,etc. 

Open minimum number of tabs

This is the most common thing we do while browsing,generally we deal with multiple sites, and we open facebook,email,movies sites,songs downloading sites at a time. Opening multiple sites creates multiple processes in the computer, and that will create much burden on processor. Thus your browser becomes slow. So always try to avoid this and open minimum number of tabs.

Use minimum add-ons or extensions

These are some extra gadgets of browser which helps us improving surfing experience and they are helpful in some works.
In Chrome it is called 'extension' and in Firefox it is called 'add-on' . So there is not any other difference between them.

These extensions are helpful, but they consume lot of memory in RAM, and they create multiple individual processes for them and that is unnecessary thing. Thus try to uninstall unneeded extensions and save memory.
